How to Apply for Enable NSW Wig Funding

What is Enable NSW Wig Funding?
Enable NSW is a government program that helps eligible NSW residents access financial support for wigs through the Aids and Equipment Program (AEP). This funding is available for people experiencing hair loss from medical conditions such as alopecia, chemotherapy, or other health-related causes.
Who is Eligible?
You may be eligible for wig funding through Enable NSW if you:
- Are a resident of New South Wales or Lord Howe Island.
- Have permanent or long-term hair loss due to medical reasons like alopecia or cancer treatment.
- Meet the clinical and financial criteria set by Enable NSW.
How to Apply for Enable NSW Wig Funding
Applying for funding can seem overwhelming, but we’re here to simplify the process for you. Here’s how you can get started:
Step 1: Download and Complete the Application Form
- Download the Enable NSW Application Form here:

- Fill out your personal and medical details.
Step 2: Get a Prescriber to Complete the Wigs Equipment Request Form
- Your GP, oncologist, or specialist must complete this form to confirm your medical need for a wig.

Step 3: Submit Your Application
Once both forms are completed, submit them to Enable NSW via email:
enable@health.nsw.gov.au

What Happens Next?
Enable NSW will review your application, which typically takes 3 to 6 months.
If approved, you’ll receive funding to help cover the cost of your wig.
