A new era of synthetic wigs in Australia

For decades, the trade-off in synthetic wigs was a simple one: convenience in exchange for realism. Synthetic wigs were easy to maintain, consistent in style, and significantly more affordable than human hair. What they gave up was movement. The individual response of each fibre to air, to touch, to light that makes a human hair wig feel alive was simply not achievable in synthetic construction.

Genesis changes that. Not by replacing human hair but by engineering a synthetic wig that closes the gap in the places that matter most: the hairline, the parting, and the way the wig moves.

The Genesis story

Genesis was nine months in development. The brief was specific: create a synthetic wig that a woman experiencing hair loss could wear to a board meeting, a wedding, or a school pickup and feel completely like herself. Not just comfortable. Not just passable. Genuinely confident.

The result is a wig built around three pillars: construction, fibre, and colour. Each one was approached with the same rigour we apply to our human hair collection. The only difference is the material.

Designed for modern women

Genesis was designed with a specific woman in mind. She is busy. She wants something that looks after itself between wears. She does not want to spend an hour in the morning on her hair. And she does not want to give up the option to curl it on a Tuesday when she feels like a change.

She may be navigating a health journey chemotherapy, alopecia, thinning, hormonal changes where a wig is not a luxury but a necessity. Or she may simply have found, after years of trying, that a premium-quality wig fits her life better than fighting her natural hair every morning. Both women deserve the same result.

Why Genesis is different

  • Fully hand-tied construction. Every single strand of fibre in a Genesis wig is individually knotted into the cap. Not wefted, not machine-sewn hand-tied. This is the same construction used in the finest human hair wigs, and it is what creates natural movement in every direction. The cap moves with your head; the fibres respond individually.
  • 0.5 ultra-fine knotting. The knot size matters. Larger knots create visible bumps at the root that break the illusion of a natural scalp. At 0.5, the Genesis knots are essentially invisible the base of each strand appears to emerge from skin, not fabric.
  • HD lace front. High-definition lace is significantly finer than standard lace. It essentially disappears against the skin at the hairline, creating an undetectable edge that requires no concealer or cosmetic blending for most skin tones.
  • Extended lace parting. Every Genesis wig features an extended lace parting that gives you flexibility to adjust the parting position across a wider area creating a personalised look that feels natural to you, not predetermined by the cap.
  • Heat-friendly fibre to 150C. Premium synthetic fibre that tolerates heat tools up to 150 degrees Celsius. Curl it, wave it, straighten it the style holds, and the fibre is built to maintain its quality through repeated styling.
  • Lightweight cap. The Genesis cap was designed with sensitive scalps in mind. The hand-tied construction distributes weight evenly rather than concentrating it at the weft rows, and the HD lace front reduces the grip required at the hairline. The result is a wig that can be worn all day comfortably.

The Genesis Colour Collection

Twelve shades, each one developed to read as a natural, dimensional hair colour rather than a flat synthetic tone. The palette was built around real salon-colour trends balayage, shadow roots, multi-tonal blends translated into synthetic fibre through a process that took multiple development rounds to achieve.

The shades span the full spectrum: Arctic Blonde and Vanilla Cream for the fairest end; Champagne Melt and Soft Linen Blonde for warm blonde tones; Golden Bronde and Caramel Eclipse for the brown-blonde blends; Warm Chestnut and Deep Espresso for rich brunettes; Midnight for true black; Burnished Auburn for warm red-brown; Iced Silver for the growing grey-acceptance movement; and Smoked Pearl for a soft, ash-toned silver-grey.

Each colour is available in the Classic 16" a shoulder-grazing length that was chosen specifically because it is the most versatile. Long enough for variety. Short enough for ease.

Designed in Australia, handcrafted by specialist artisans

Genesis was designed by the Milk & Honey Wigs team in Australia. Each wig is handcrafted by specialist wig artisans in Indonesia, where the hand-tying process takes approximately three months per production run. It is not a fast-fashion product. The production timeline is part of what makes it possible to maintain the construction standard.

Who is Genesis for?

Genesis is for any woman who has been told that a synthetic wig cannot look this good. It is for women who need a wig that holds up to a full day a demanding schedule, a significant event, a health journey without asking them to think about it. And it is for women who have always wanted the look and feel of a premium wig without the commitment and care requirements of human hair.

If you are currently wearing one of our human hair wigs and looking for an everyday alternative, or if you are exploring our medical-grade wig range and wondering whether Genesis might suit your needs, our team is happy to guide you through the comparison. Frequently asked questions

What makes the Genesis Collection different from other synthetic wigs?
Genesis combines 100% fully hand-tied construction, an ultra-fine 0.5 knotting technique, premium HD lace front, and heat-friendly fibre that tolerates up to 150 degrees Celsius. Each fibre is tied individually, creating natural movement and realism that closely resembles human hair something standard wefted or machine-sewn synthetic wigs cannot achieve.

Can I use heat styling tools on Genesis wigs?
Yes. Genesis wigs use premium heat-friendly fibre rated to 150 degrees Celsius, allowing you to curl, wave, or straighten to your preference. Use a heat protectant spray before styling to extend the life of the fibre.

Can I change the parting on a Genesis wig?
Yes. Every Genesis wig features an extended lace parting, giving you flexibility to adjust the parting position across a wider area and create a personalised, natural look rather than a fixed one.

Are Genesis wigs suitable for women experiencing hair loss?
Yes. Genesis was specifically designed with the needs of women experiencing medical hair loss, alopecia, thinning hair, and chemotherapy-related hair loss in mind. The lightweight cap, soft hand-tied fibres, and realistic hairline make it a compassionate, everyday choice. Why Genesis is different

What makes Genesis different from a traditional synthetic wig?

Genesis was designed to feel more like a premium human-hair wig, without the maintenance. Every piece is 100% hand-tied, giving the hair more natural movement and allowing it to fall freely rather than sitting in fixed wefts. Combined with our ultra-fine 0.5 knot construction, lightweight cap and HD lace, the result is softer, flatter and incredibly natural against the scalp.

Why is the Genesis cap so lightweight?

We completely rethought the traditional synthetic wig cap. Genesis uses a lightweight stretch spandex base with individually hand-tied fibres, meaning there’s less bulk and structure underneath the hair. At approximately 50% lighter than a traditional wig, it’s designed for all-day comfort — particularly for those experiencing hair loss or wearing wigs daily.

Can I style Genesis like human hair?

Yes. Genesis is made using premium heat-friendly synthetic fibre that can be styled up to 180°C. You can straighten it, add waves or change the finish to suit you. The extended parting space, natural HD lace front and individually hand-tied hair also give you much more freedom in how you wear and style your wig.

The Perfect Fit Exchange

If your wig isn't quite right, exchange it within 7 days. Human hair exchanges include a complimentary online consultation to get your colour, length and fit exactly right.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know before you choose your wig.

Is Genesis human hair or synthetic?

Genesis is made from our premium heat-friendly synthetic fibre — chosen to give you the softness, movement and natural appearance of luxury hair with significantly less maintenance. It arrives styled, holds its shape beautifully and can be heat-styled up to 180°C.

What does 100% hand-tied mean?

Unlike traditional machine-wefted wigs, every individual fibre in a Genesis wig is tied into the cap by hand. This allows the hair to move more naturally, gives you greater styling freedom and removes much of the bulk associated with conventional synthetic wigs.

It’s one of the biggest reasons Genesis looks and feels so different.

Will Genesis look natural at the hairline?

That was one of our biggest priorities when developing the collection. Genesis features an ultra-fine HD lace front with tiny 0.5 knots, designed to create an incredibly delicate transition between the wig and your skin.

The lace also arrives pre-cut, so there’s less work required before wearing.

Is Genesis comfortable for complete hair loss?

Absolutely. Genesis was created with daily wig wearers and hair loss in mind.

The lightweight stretch cap, smooth construction, silicone ear tabs and adjustable fit are designed to sit comfortably against the scalp — without the heavy internal structure found in many traditional wigs.

At approximately 50% lighter, it can make a noticeable difference when you're wearing your wig all day.

Do I need glue or adhesive?

Genesis has been designed to be worn glueless for most wearers. Silicone ear tabs and adjustable Velcro straps help secure the wig comfortably, while the lightweight cap moulds closely to the head.

Adhesive can still be used if that's your personal preference, but it isn't intended to be essential.

Can I change the part or style my Genesis wig?

Yes — and this is where the 100% hand-tied construction really makes a difference.

Because the fibres aren't restricted by traditional wefts, the hair has much more natural movement. Genesis also features extended parting space, giving you greater freedom to personalise how the hair falls and where you wear your part.

Can I use heat on Genesis?

Yes. Genesis is made from heat-friendly fibre that can be styled up to 180°C.

You can straighten the hair, create waves or refresh the style as needed. We always recommend using controlled heat and styling gently to maximise the life of your wig.

How much hair does Genesis have?

Genesis has been created at approximately 150% density — enough hair to feel luxurious without looking overly thick or “wiggy.”

Combined with the hand-tied cap and lightweight construction, the goal is natural movement and believable volume rather than unnecessary bulk.

How do I choose the right Genesis length?

Genesis launches in three lengths:

10" — a chic, shorter bob

16" — an effortless medium length

22" — longer, statement hair

Because styling, curl and individual body proportions can change where a wig sits, the length may appear slightly different from person to person.

How do I care for Genesis?

Genesis is designed to be considerably easier to maintain than human hair. Wash only when required using products suitable for synthetic fibre, detangle gently and avoid unnecessary friction or excessive heat.

With the right care, you'll keep the fibres looking smoother and the shape of your wig beautiful for longer.
